MY PRIORITIES
As a 7th-generation Riverton resident, I am deeply invested in ensuring our city remains a safe, thriving, and family-friendly community. My experience in local, state, and federal government has given me the tools to advocate for smart policies that protect Riverton’s future. Here’s where I stand:
Transparency, Accountability, and Accessibility:
My phone number (801-810-0612) and email (AJ4Riverton@gmail.com) are posted publicly on this website because I work for you. Whether you have a question, an idea, or a concern, I’m here to listen, respond, and make sure your voice is heard at City Hall.
Support First Responders:
Public safety is paramount, and I will always have the backs of our police, firefighters, and first responders. We must ensure they have the funding, resources, and training necessary to keep our community safe. As your Councilman, I fight to fully fund police and fire services, strengthen partnerships between first responders and the community, and oppose any efforts to defund or undermine our law enforcement.
Parks, Recreation, and Trails:
As a member of the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Committee, I have worked to expand trails, parks, and outdoor recreation opportunities across the city. Riverton families deserve well-maintained green spaces, more trails, and outdoor amenities that promote a healthy, active lifestyle. As your Councilman, I advocate to expand and improve Riverton’s trail system to better connect neighborhoods, Invest in the beautification of the City by planting more trees and promoting greener public spaces, and create more outdoor recreation opportunities for families and residents of all ages.
Infrastructure and Housing:
Riverton is approaching full build-out, and we must be proactive and strategic in how we plan for the future. I will advocate for smart growth that protects Riverton’s home-town fell, ensure new developments have the right infrastructure in place before being approved, and work with state and county leaders to preserve local control over housing decisions.
Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency:
With Riverton City nearing full build-out, we must be smart with the budgeting process to maintain a strong financial future while continuing to provide high-quality services. As your Councilman, I will work to ensure tax dollars are spent wisely on essential services and infrastructure, increase transparency in the budgeting process so residents actually know where their money goes, and plan ahead for long-term financial stability as our sales tax revenue plateaus.
Riverton is not just where I live—it’s my home. I want to ensure our city remains a safe, prosperous, and family-centered place for future generations. With strong leadership, smart planning, and community-driven solutions, we can build a Riverton that honors its past while preparing for a bright future.
I am honored to have your support representing you on City Council.
